They can copy the image, but it does not help them. Each code is signed with a private key they do not have, so a made-up code fails signature validation outright. If they photocopy a genuine label and print thousands of duplicates, every one of those fakes carries the same serial — and VerifyGuard flags the impossible scan pattern (one code scanned repeatedly, in many places at once, or far from its intended market) as a clone, alerting the brand and warning the consumer.

Every approved organisation receives 250 free codes to start, with no card required. After that you pay per code generated, using prepaid credits billed in US dollars, from $0.01 per code at volume. Verification scans are always free and unlimited, so you are never penalised for consumers checking your products. No. That is the single most important design decision in the platform. Any phone camera or QR app opens the verification page directly in the browser. The page is built to load fast on 3G connections and low-end Android devices, because a verification that takes ten seconds is a verification that will not happen.

Any physical product that carries a label or package. We see the strongest demand in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, alcoholic beverages and spirits, cosmetics and personal care, agricultural inputs such as seed and fertiliser, electronics and spare parts, and packaged food. Sectors where a counterfeit carries a health risk benefit the most.

Every scan is logged with its approximate location, time, and device signature, then plotted on a live map in your dashboard. When failed verifications or cloned codes cluster in one town or one distributor's territory, that cluster is usually the counterfeit source. Brands typically surface organised counterfeit distribution within the first weeks of scans arriving.

Create an account and, once our team has approved your organisation, you can add a product and generate your first batch of verification codes straight away. The codes download as print-ready files that go straight to your existing label printer or packaging supplier, so no new production hardware is needed. Yes. Your company can be headquartered anywhere. You generate codes for each export batch, set the African country the batch is shipped to, and print the codes at your own facility or your packaging supplier before the goods leave. Scans outside that destination market are flagged as possible diversion or parallel imports. Billing is in US dollars, and our field team in Kenya can run market checks and test purchases to turn scan signals into evidence. VerifyGuard complements, rather than replaces, local import requirements such as Kenya's IPR recordation with the Anti-Counterfeit Authority and government excise stamps.
